What's the best time of day for a photography session?
Based on my style, I always recommend the first or last 2 hours of the day. This brings flattering light, a romantic feel and more options for shooting. I'm an early bird so I'm happy to meet you at dawn if sunset doesn't work. Photos created in bright sunlight will yield different results - maybe hard shadows is your thing so this isn't necessarily a bad thing! I'll always be up front about how lighting can affect your images since I work mainly with natural light.
What should I wear?
For wedding photography, engagement photos and/or portrait photography, I suggest wearing what is most flattering to you in fit and color. You know if you look good in orange or not. Don't wear that cute new shirt if you're always tugging at the bottom. Wear what makes you shine and be sure to iron it.
Avoid logos, wrinkles, distracting colors/patterns. Go for a timeless look.
Don't forget your hands! Avoid chipped polish or dirty nails (unless you're a farmer, then it's kinda charming).
Do you have any good location ideas?
Definitely! As a destination wedding photographer, I have suggestions for beautiful elopement venues and small ceremonies. For business photography or portraits outside of the cubicle, there are a lot of fun and charming historical spots to capture the perfect background. Email me and let's chat.
Do you know any models we can include in the small business photos using our product/service?
Yes! I'm happy to connect you with local models who can show-off your beautiful product or service. I can assist in finding the model you envision who also fits in your price range.
What if it rains?
We're always running that risk for outdoor sessions. The risk is worth it, though! Do yourself a favor and don't check the weather until 24-48 hours out, it changes SO quickly here in the mountains. Have a back-up location in mind in case we do get rained out and you're unable to reschedule (your Air BnB, your favorite donut shop, where you had your first date, your personal workspace, your kitchen). I have access to rent out studio space too.
How long before I receive my final images?
For weddings, I ask for 45 days. For all other clients, I ask for 30 days. More often than not, you'll receive them sooner than expected!
How long have you been photographing?
Over 10 years! I started with film then moved into digital and began accepting clients in 2014.
Should I tag you in images on Facebook or Instagram?
Yes, please! My social media is all linked at the bottom of this page. You recommending me (in any form) is how my business as an Asheville professional photographer succeeds, so thank you, thank you, thank you.
