Asheville's Best Private Dining Spaces for your Small Event

Whether you’re planning a private dinner with family after you elope or looking for a cozy spot to gather your closest people for a welcome dinner, this list has you covered.

After exchanging vows beneath the trees or on a Blue Ridge overlook, you may not want a full reception but you do want a good celebratory meal. Think warm lighting, thoughtful wine lists and food that feels like comfort in the best way. These Asheville restaurants work beautifully for intimate wedding dinners, welcome gatherings and farewell brunches.

The Rhu’s private event space

The Rhu is a cafe and bakery in downtown Asheville, an extension of the former restaurant Rhubarb. They now have a beautiful private event space with all the charm and romance needed for a reception.

Cúrate: Wine Cellar or La Bodega

Cúrate is one of Asheville’s most popular restaurants and for good reason. Their authentic Spanish tapas are a rare find in the region and absolutely delicious.

For private dining, they offer two great options. The Wine Cellar is an intimate space for groups of up to 40 guests, while La Bodega, recently transitioned, accommodates larger gatherings. Both located in downtown Asheville.

Cultura

Cultura offers chef-driven dining under the umbrella of the Wicked Weed family - a well known and popular brewery in Asheville. This is a fun spot in South Slope with a lot of character for any celebratory dinner! The menu is often fun and unique for adventurous eaters.

Luminosa

Luminosa is located at The Flat Iron Hotel, a historic, adaptive reuse boutique hotel in downtown Asheville. The thoughtfully designed space evokes a cozy tavern atmosphere, with warm, wood-centric elements that complement the rustic Italian menu. I’m intrigued by the open flame cooking and speakeasy bar.

The Montford Rooftop Bar

Full disclosure, my husband works for the company that owns The Montford Rooftop Bar.

The mountain views from The Montford speak for themselves, the small team loves interacting with guests and the food + cocktails are killer. Sprawling views in a cozy rooftop bar.

Douglas Ellington House

A stunning historic home just outside of downtown Asheville. The cozy Douglas Ellington House provides a special setting for many small weddings but a welcome dinner would be perfect here too!
