Spring cleaning for small businesses

As February fades away and the days turn a bit warmer (consistently), we anticipate the sights of spring. Trees are blooming and we're building less fires. Maybe I'll put some greenery in front of that fireplace? Hmmm...

I look forward to some spring cleaning around my house. For my business though? That sounds a bit daunting. 

A quick-n-easy list to feel like you've accomplished something:

• Refresh your About Me page. Any updates to add? Any outdated fluff to eliminate? Maybe a new photo of yourself?
• Review every page of your website for broken links. Create an improved and professional experience for anyone who visits. While you're at it, make sure you have a cute 404 Error page set-up that will redirect folks. There are broken-link-checkers floating around all over the internet too.
• Browse through your portfolio/online gallery of your products or services. Ditch anything that isn't THE best. Add your latest images to refresh.
• File away that pile. I have an ever-growing pile of papers (receipts mainly) to file away. I'm too nervous to rely 100% on e-docs so I still utilize a file cabinet. 
• While you're sorting through hard copies of important documents, ditch old docs. Reference this.
• Organize your e-documents. Create folders that make sense and that you will stick to. Set yourself up for success. Bonus points if you do this for your emails too!
• Browse through your saved Pins on Pinterest. Have a board with business tips? Read through some of those articles just like you said you would! Do you save things to revisit anywhere else? Screenshots in your phone? The "saved" folder under Instagram? Clean up all that stuff. 
• And an actual cleaning of your work space might be nice too ;)
